On the April 22, 2008, Earth Day episode of ABC's The View, environmental activist, best-selling author, and Young Living customer Deirdre Imus was featured in a segment about how parents can help their children grow up green—which includes using Young Living products. Imus named Young Living's Thieves® Waterless Hand Purifier as one of her recommended "greening" products, and The View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Elizabeth Hasselbeck sampled the product on air. My family and I recently had significant health improvements because we’re using therapeutic essential oils. My daughter is out of pain after 1 1/2 years and my husband’s Achilles tendon pain disappeared within minutes. In fact I’m so impressed with how they really work and they work fast that I decided to share my experiences with others that are looking for greater health. I thought of you.
Here’s what happened to our family. When I was first introduced to Essential Oils by Young Living, it was to help my 8 month old Lab, Ducky. She had hurt her rear leg running (like puppies do) and was on crate rest for a week. When Monica came to my house we talked about the Essential Oils that would help heal a possible torn ligament. I also mentioned that my daughter, Ruby, had torn a muscle in her pelvis and damaged her hip socket 1 ½ years before in a 4 wheeler accident and then at track while tangling with a high hurdle. Ruby said the pain was always there, sometimes worse, she couldn’t run/jog and it popped a lot.
Monica had Ruby apply Lavender and Peppermint, after rating her pain 1-10 and rated it a “7.” We waited 3 minutes and the pain had disappeared except for deep inside! Monica had her apply Lavender and Peppermint again and then Pan Away, wait 3 minutes and in less than that time Ruby said the pain was gone! I felt I had just witnessed a miracle. I was so happy seeing Ruby smiling and dancing around being pain-free. The pain did not come back until two days later. That was amazing! I had in the meantime ordered Lavender and Peppermint and Ortho Sport and was then able to keep up on the applications to help her leg to heal.
Another “miracle” occurred when my husband, Jerry, pulled his Achilles tendon while jogging and the pain radiated all the way up to his calf. He was limping for four days before I received my order in the mail and I immediately applied the Ortho Sport from his heel all the way up his calf. The pain was diminished by more than half in minutes. In fact his supervisor at work, mentioned he wasn’t limping as bad as the day before. We continued to apply the Ortho Sport everyday for 3-4 days until his leg didn’t hurt at all. What a relief!
I have since ordered more of the Essential Oils that will help Ruby and Ducky with their muscle/tendon injuries as they really work and they work fast!!! I have back problems and will be getting Valor to help with that. I am also getting the diffuser so my whole house can smell clean, fresh and protect us from germs.

How did "Thieves" get it’s name?
The Story of Thieves Oil
from the Essential Oils Desk Reference and Secret of ThievesDuring the Black Plague of 16th century, a small band of thieves were caught in the act and brought before the King, who forced them to divulge a most curious secret. The thieves had been entering the homes of plague victims and stripping the dead bodies of money, jewelry and anything else of value that could be found. Although the plague was highly contagious, not one of this morbid band of thieves ever contracted the dread plague even though their thefts had put them in daily contact with the dead bodies of plague victims. The King, eager to protect himself and the Royal Family, demanded to know how the thieves had avoided contracting the plague.
Soon enough, the truth came out. The thieves were all members of the same family - a family from a long line of Apothecaries. Because of their intimate knowledge of the healing arts, passed down from generation to generation, they were familiar with a combination of specific plant oils that, when rubbed on the body, would protect the body from contracting this most feared and deadly disease. The King forced the thieves to divulge the specific plant oils used, and the formula for extracting them from the plants. With that vital information in hand, he was thereby able to protect himself and his family from the deadly plague.

Pets: Aromatherapy And Essential Oils:
Essential oils have been used
very successfully on many different kinds of animals from kittens to 2,000-pound
draft horses. Animals often respond to essential oils in much the same way as
humans do. Large stock animals, such as horses and cattle are not as sensitive
to the phenol and sesquiterpene constituents, so essential oils can be applied
to them as neat, or full strength.
Smaller animals such as small dogs and cats may actually be more sensitive to
these chemicals than humans. For this reason, always dilute essential oils in a
high quality vegetable carrier oil (2-3 drops essential oil in 1 teaspoon of V6
Mixing Oil) before applying to small dogs or cats. Avoid using high phenol
essential oils, such as oregano and thyme in any form on cats, except under the
direction of your veterinarian.
General Guidelines:
For small animals (cats and small dogs), apply 3-5 drops diluted
oil mixture per application. For larger animals (large dogs), apply 3-5 drops
neat per application. For large animals (cattle and horses), apply 15-20 drops
neat per application.
Helpful Tips:
When treating large animals for viral or bacterial infection,
arthritis, or bone injury, use the same oil and protocol recommended for humans.
For open wounds or hard-to reach areas, oils can be put in a spray bottle and
sprayed directly on location. After an oil application, cover an open wound with
Rose Ointment to seal the wound and protect it from further infection. The
ointment will also prevent the essential oils from evaporating into the air.
There is no right or wrong way to apply essential oils. Use common sense and
good judgment as you experiment with different methods. Observe carefully how
the animal responds to the treatment. Take special care not to get essential
oils in the animal's eyes.
When treating animals with essential oils internally, make certain the oils used
are pure and free of chemicals, solvents, and adulterants. Always seek the
advice of a qualified veterinarian before allowing the animals to ingest
essential oils.
How to Apply Essential Oils
to Animals:
For non-ungulate animals (not having hooves) such as dogs or
cats, oils (neat or diluted) can be applied to paws for faster absorption.
For hoofed animals, sprinkle a few drops on the spine or flanks and massage them
in. Also apply on the gums, tongue or underneath the top lip or on the frog and
hoof rings of horses. This is an excellent location for oils to be applied to
cows, horses, etc., all animals with hooves. Oils can also be applied to
auricular points of the ears.
Example of Application:
If you have a high-spirited, jittery horse that is tough to
saddle, apply Peace & Calming and Valor on yourself. As you approach him, he
will have a tendency to bow his head or flare his nostrils when he perceives the
aroma. Kneel down or squat beside him and remain still so that the animal can
become accustomed to the smell. As he breathes in the fragrances, he will become
calmer and easier to manage.

On the July 11 episode of NBC's Today show, Dr. Susan Wagner, an animal neurologist, along with animal behaviorist Dr. Terry Curtis promoted the use of Young Living essential oils. Dr. Wagner addressed the fear issues for different breeds of dogs and suggested the use of lavender essential oil as a treatment option for a dog with a fear of water. Fleas and other Parasites:
Single oils:
Lemongrass, Melaleuca alternifolia, eucalyptus, peppermint.
Oil Blends:
Di-Tone. Add 1-2 drops of lemongrass to shampoo.
Oils repel fleas and other external parasites. Wash blankets with oils added to
the wash during the rinse cycle. Place 1-2 drops of lemongrass on collar to
eliminate fleas.
For internal parasites, rub Di-Tone on the pads (bottom of feet).
Insect Repellent:
Put 10 drops each of Purification, Eucalyptus globulus, and peppermint in an
8-oz spray bottle with water.
Alternate formula: Put 2 drops pine, 2 drops Eucalyptus globulus, and 5-10 drops
citronella in a spray bottle of water. Shake vigorously and spray over area.
Floral waters such as peppermint and Idaho tansy can also be used.
Mites: (ear mites)
Apply Purification and peppermint to a Q-Tip and
swab just the inside of the ear.
Nervous Anxiety:
Valor, Trauma Life, chamomile, geranium, lavender, and valerian.
Pain:
Helichrysum, PanAway, Relief It, and peppermint diluted with vegetable oil 2:1.
Shiny Coat:
Rosemary and sandalwood.
Ticks:
To remove ticks, apply 1 drop cinnamon or
peppermint on cotton swab and swab on tick. Then wait for it to unhedge the head
before removing from animal's skin.
Wounds:
Melrose, helichrysum, and Rose Ointment.
