Welcome to the Liberty Labradors Home Page.

Bred for Looks & Brains   ~   Trained for Hunting

Liberty Labradors is located in the middle of beautiful Wisconsin, 40 miles North of Wisconsin Dells.  We have been raising and training Labrador Retrievers for more than 25 years, (not only in WI), and have shown in Conformation, Obedience and Hunt Tests.  Our dogs are commonly called "English Type" and have the big heads and thick coats with great otter tails to go along with it.  We incorporated the English lines by breeding to CH Guidelines Mastercard, a Swedish Import, Ch Glacieridge Charlie's Red Ale, a son of Multi Ch Carromer's Charlie Chalk, Touchstones Pop-A-Top At Rozzay JH, WC, a son of Am. Can CH Chancellor Merry (from Sandylands and Poolstead lines) and grandson of CH Tabatha's Drifter at Dickendall, JH, and recently CH Winterwynd's Rough Waters, NAP, NJP, RN a son of CH Weathertop Storm Cloud (son of Balrion Ring around the World) and Beechcroft lines on both sides.

I train all the dogs for obedience, conformation and retrieving with the help of our youngest daughter, Ruby, and my husband puts all that training to work by hunting the dogs.

All our breeding stock is OFA hips Good or Excellent and OFA Normal elbows with eyes being CERFed and/or ACVO checked yearly.  Temperaments are paramount to having a family companion seconded by sound bodies to withstand the long hours in the duck blind or afield.

We usually have 1 litter a year.  We sell all pet puppies limited registration.

If you are considering getting a yellow lab pup "just like Marley" think carefully.

Not all Labs are created equal.

If the Grogan's had done more research into Marley genes they might have made a different choice, I know I would have, but like a lot of first time puppy purchasers, they let their hearts make the decision.

Check out this AKC link, a video, by John Grogan author of the book Marley and Me.

Hey, check out the Essential Oils page - they taste good too!
